Your uncle’s wife?, in the warm summer of 2023, I visited my uncle Jan with my family. For many years he lived in a small picturesque village on the edge of a huge forest. My uncle had always been a mysterious and reclusive man, but after marrying Lisa, he seemed to have changed. Lisa was a charming and intriguing woman, but there was always something elusive about her.
While I was with Uncle Jan and Lisa, I felt a strange energy in the house. The atmosphere was tense and there were moments when I felt like secrets were being kept. I couldn’t hold back my curiosity and asked my mother about Lisa’s past.
My mother looked at me seriously and said, “Liisa’s history is fascinating, but she and your uncle don’t want to talk about it much. He seems to carry a dark past.
Curiosity got the better of my reluctance and one night I decided to confront Lisa. I found him in the garden looking at the moon as if searching for something in the depths of the night.

I felt sorry for him and decided not to try any harder. Nevertheless, my curiosity gnawed at me and I began to inquire about Lisa’s past in the village. Some of the villagers whispered about the mysterious accident that happened to Lisa before moving to the village.
One day I received a letter from my uncle asking me not to dig into Lisa’s past any more. He wrote that she wants to leave the past behind and start a new life, far from what ever happened.
I felt guilty and realized that I had violated Lisa’s privacy. I decided to retire and focus on enjoying my time with my uncle and his wife.
After that summer we left the village and returned to our lives. But the mystery surrounding Lisa and her past haunted my mind. Sometimes I wonder if I should have confronted him or if I should have left it alone.
